Our programme provides teachers at the creches with skills, training, workshops, support and accredited courses where possible. This equips them with the knowledge and training necessary to teach the curriculum we supply together with the teaching resources which enhances the teaching and learning experience for all. This is crucial for the different stages of Early Childhood Development and also ensures that the children are reaching all the milestones in their informative years and sets them on a path to being “school ready”.

The curriculum has been developed by an early childhood development specialist and is in line with the Department of Education’s CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) for foundation phase – children 5 to 6 years of age, Grade R and the Department’s NELDS (National Early Learning and Development Standards) for children birth to four years of age which includes Grade RR.

We currently have 18 creches in 5 informal settlements within the Lanseria/Muldersdrift area that we support, with approx. 860 children between the ages of 1 month and 6 years.

As an organisation we are passionate about not only providing the Creches with the resources necessary for teaching but also transforming them into proper places of learning with the facilities necessary to effectively teach the children in different age groups. In most cases, these creches started as places of safety for children in the community while their parents were at work. We have been blessed to be in a position through the support of individuals and Corporates to do infrastructure upgrades at some of these creches.

We are proud to be associated with some Benefactor’s who have ‘adopted’ some of the creches. Through their support and commitment they have made a huge difference to the lives of the children at the creches, affording them the opportunity for a solid foundation for their schooling years.

During the year we have 4 drives where we encourage individuals, groups, corporates and schools to collect or sponsor the Creches we support with:

  • Back to School – supply of stationery and printing of curriculum for each creche
  • Winter – supply of winter warmers like blankets, beanies, scarves, fleezies, etc.
  • Mandela Day – each year we do something different to celebrate Madiba’s birthday
  • Year End – party with gifts of educational toys/food hampers for each child at the creches.

Should you wish to get involved with any of these drives please contact Edlyn or Thandi on 011-7963005.
